Farewell Joelle Axton
It is with mixed emotions that we say farewell to Joelle Axton, our resident volunteer with the longest running record of live-in service. Joelle served with us almost four years and brought to Good Neighbor such a spirit of hospitality to daily operations.
We will miss seeing Joelle fighting with our stubborn lawnmower, trying to start it so she could continue her regular caring for our lawns. We will remember her picking veggies from the garden. We will miss her gentle, quiet, and generous presence at the house.
Joelle understood deeply what daily life in a place like Good Neighbor could offer residents as well as community members using the building.
Joelle is moving to her home state of Missouri and will be working near St Louis at the Veteran’s Administration. We know that the same routines of daily service to others will animate her work with veterans.
We love you Joelle and will miss you at Good Neighbor House!
