Our “settlers” are live-in volunteers who care for the house and host events.
New to Texas, Kendall has called the beautiful Bluegrass State of Kentucky home since birth. She graduated from Georgetown College with a B.A. in French and a minor in Biology, and is currently considering returning to school for a Master’s degree in Social Work. She came to Texas to be closer to friends and family in the area while pursuing career opportunities involving community development and nonprofit work. Kendall has many years of experience working in youth ministry, and is working as an instructional aide with Waco ISD.
Luann and her husband, Chuck, moved to Waco in July 2016 from New York City to invest in the arts and cultural life in Waco and serve at Good Neighbor House. Luann is an educator and advocate in arts ministry, entrepreneurship, leadership and business development; and Chuck is a professional guitar player. For the last five years they were in New York, Luann was the resident staff member for the Baylor in New York program, which is how she learned about the awesome stuff going on in Waco in the arts. She is working part-time with Creative Waco as well as on independent projects. Chuck is playing gigs and teaching guitar, and is a big help around Good Neighbor House.
Drue grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma and relocated to Waco after marrying her husband and best friend Reid. She studied classical art and is working as an artisan for Black Oak Studio. She also works in the film industry as an actress in the Oklahoma/Dallas area and is exploring the arts opportunities in Waco. She is excited to be a part of the growing arts community and to and serve with Good Neighbor.
Reid grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and went to Baylor University for Environmental Studies / Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (Class of December 2017). He married his best friend, Drue, and moved with her to Good Neighbor in August 2017. He is excited to serve as the Environmental Sustainability Projects Manager for Good Neighbor.
